Not just the NFL, but also everyone who didn't get it then and still don't get it today, talking to you Drew!

People didn’t “misunderstand “ what Colin was saying. They knew exactly what he was saying, and they didn’t like it. So they TWISTED what he was saying and turned it into anti-American and anti-military. Even the Green Beret guy whole talked Colin into kneeling got it twisted. It was’t about the troops! It was about systematic police murder and brutality toward African Americans. The NFL owes Colin a public apology and opportunity to return to the NFL if he wants to.

So sad Shanahan didn’t answer the question. Of course the NFL owes Colin a public apology!

I'm totally impressed with Kyle here. I still feel like most of the people who hate Kaepernick STILL don't know that he went from sitting to kneeling because a veteran suggested that to him as a way of paying respect to veterans and the flag while expressing his feeling that we weren't living up to the ideals of "liberty and justice for all." Kaepernick is the truest of patriots because he wasn't willing to just play lip service to our ideals. He was willing to stand up and fight for those ideals by kneeling.

I am a Veteran of the USAF. I served with honor for 11 years. I served for an individual's right to peacefully protest using whatever platform was available to him or her. Besides certain people not understanding why Colin was protesting (actually, they didn't give a damn why), these "FAKE"triots decried that he was disrespecting the military or the flag or the National Anthem. I call these people "FAKE"triots because they have no understanding of true freedom or the US Constitution. Well, first of all, Colin wasn't disrespecting me. In the military, we kneel for our fallen brothers. How is kneeling a sign of disrespect? It's completely the opposite. If you kneel in church, are you disrespecting God or Jesus? You CAN'T cherry pick here. And if you do, you're just showing your racism for all to see. You want to call this the land of the free? You want to call the USA a Democracy? If you do, then you have to give people the freedom (under the First Amendment) to protest in whatever peaceful way they do. The symbol of a nation cannot just be a flag or a song. It HAS TO BE about being able to demonstrate that freedom. To celebrate that freedom. If you don't then you just want to live in a fascist state. A fascist state is not why I joined the military and served for 11 years.

OH NO WE GET IT... BUT WHAT THE PLAYERS ACROSS ALL SPORTS DON'T SEEM TO GET IS THAT:
DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM - OUR COUNTRY'S SONG - THE ONE THAT HONORS ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO BRAVELY SERVED IN THE MILITARY TO PROVIDE THE FREEDOMS WE HOLD SO DEAR - DESERVES RESPECT WHILE IT IS PLAYING - PERIOD.
IT IS NOT THE TIME OR PLACE FOR POLITICS OR PROTESTS OF ANY KIND.

Eric. Reid. I like Kyle, but everyone knows the 49er Organization wanted Eric gone to rid the organization of the BLM protest. Jed can't hide behind that seven figure donation... err tax write off either. They all owe Eric, Colin and others a huge apology before they join the march.

Yes, damn it! He's owed a personal apology. He practiced his right to protest. He's more American than Trump who colluded with our enemies.

WRONG! "How" matters.
1) He was an employee asked to stop and affecting the revenue of his employer.
2) Be an activist on your own time.
3) His messaging ability was pitiful no that would be kind. Horrible. If you're going to be a spokesperson join a speech club first. I would say he should keep his day job but he couldn't read defenses any better. His Mother even gave him time-out!

"How" does matter There have been many a why ruined by the how.

Now before you call me a racist bigot I lived and experienced exactly what he was complaining about. But I chose to be productive in my actions not an idiot making an idiot's way.

How many guys will be disruptive and last in your organization Kyle?
