Sometimes we touch the road with a boot to ensure we are mindfully present and maintaining focus - “yes, that is the road passing quickly beneath my wheels - I can feel it with my body, be here now . . .”

To let riders behind know there is gravel on the turn, and there is always plenty on our dodgy roads
