More Democrats call for Biden to step aside | DW News

US President Joe Biden is resisting growing calls to abandon his re-election bid. He's vowing to return to the campaign trail next week. Biden is currently isolating at his beach house in the state of Delaware, after testing positive for COVID-19. His doctor says his condition is improving. The president is under increasing pressure, with many senior Democrats worried that he cannot beat Donald Trump in November. More than 30 congressional Democrats have now called for him to drop out.

Just the optic of his walk, his slow and painful way of negotiating the stairs to the airplane, his forgetfulness of the topic and names of people while talking in public, his unclear mumbling... are enough for people NOT to vote for him. He should step down months ago with his promise of being a "transitional president" and also... most importantly... to keep his legacy intact. Now, even if he steps down because of pressure... his legacy has already tainted with this hanging-on debacle.
