l love so much that the creator learned about the original creepypasta, knew he had a cave near him and thought "Hey I can do that" and just did it and it came out so wonderfully and so faithful to the original story, I'm so glad that there are people out there that use what they have around them to creat such great content.

Alex (the guy that plays Ted) was incredibly faithful to the original story, the entire YT series can be watched in the same amount of time it takes to read the original story, he was able to utilize a real cave, researched actual caving practices and terminology just to make things more accurate, HE EVEN HAS A DOG THAT LOOKS LIKE WHIP IN THE ORIGINAL STORY oh and he uploaded each video on the same day corresponding to the original updates

now he's doing his own original series and I am very excited to see how it goes

The fact he didn't know about the story until he saw a papa meat and wendigoon video, thought "imma recreate this", found a cave and a few friends, made and edited video in like 3 MONTHS, and then uploaded each video so that they corresponded to the dates of the original post. Not only THAT but he said that he made it so that the length of the videos added up to the amount of time it takes to READ IT. This man has such talent and attention to detail. He really said "if im going to do it, then i'm going all in". UGHH SO GOOD.

I will say this about caving. The early days folks were INSANE. Burning lamps, fuel you measured in pounds per hour... I mean, you still DO, but batteries last so much longer and LED are so much more efficent....

Aside from the faithfulness to the story... how well is the acting wtf?? It feels nothing like they're following any script, it's so natural, relatable and immersive. I love it!

I'm really enjoying how natural the delivery is. It has this really authentic "two bros with a camera" vibe like the early days of YouTube.

Bros caving in a durag. Legendary stuff. The only mystery is the impeccable waves hes probably hiding under that thing.

The anxiety I anxietied when he takes off the harness

The scariest part of watching the series for me was how he actually did all of these things for the shots. The blood can be fake, but he is actually climbing into small crevices, and recording footage in the dark. It provides so much real anxiety into these moments. It is dedication to the art, and I respect them for that so much. I'm really happy this project was undertaken by people with experience in what they were doing.

Nightmind is such a boon for me as a lover of horror who just cannot watch horror films and series. I can read horror books or comics, I can listen to horror podcasts and people telling tales, but I just can't take witnessing it in a movie. Nightmind lets me experience the great series without getting overwhelmed and not feeling alone. And I've loved the Ted the Caver story for years, so I'm super excited to watch this! Thank you Nightmind!

A nuance to Ted the caver I haven’t heard talked about is that the story was written to be read by his friends and family specifically not just any old internet dweller so I wonder if there are nuances to his behavior and word choice throughout the story that most people can’t pick up on because they don’t know ted

ted the caver is such an important piece of media. I think it really did an amazing job at setting a standard for creepypasta stories, its extremely alluring premise combined with its level of ambiguity is so amazing

honestly as someone who does not have a creative mind whatsoever, this is really motivating. it proves you don't *have* to write your own story from scratch to make an amazing unfiction/horror series.

As soon as Nick uploads, I go straight to his description and watch the material. I’ve been conditioned. Why wait until I’m told to do so?
I’ve watched the entire series, and I’ll be commenting on it before I watch this video. It’s long, but not too long. There are some slow burning moments, but they kept it reasonably interesting. Every upload has something rewarding. The execution for a film adaptation of an old unfiction blog in found footage format was handled masterfully. The climax hits like a sledge hammer. It ends on a cliffhanger, but with a heavy and dreadful finality to it. Its strength is building hope and optimism, just to shatter it.
If you know the original story, you’ll still be rewarded for watching it. But if you go in completely blind, it will certainly hit even harder. 10/10 for what it is.
