HARRIS/TRUMP DEBATE RECAP 💨

The lively debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump on Tuesday evening touched on the economy, immigration, abortion, democracy and climate change.

The nominees clashed over and over, with the vice president baiting the former president into an animated response on the criminal charges he faces. In a decided change from June’s debate between President Joe Biden and Trump, ABC News moderators pushed back against the former president’s falsehoods — including his baseless claims that Democrats favor abortion after birth, and the debunked assertion that Haitian immigrants are eating pets in an Ohio town.

Minutes after the debate ended, pop star Taylor Swift announced that she would vote for Harris in an Instagram post that referenced AI-generated images that had circulated falsely claiming the singer had endorsed Trump.

If there was any question that I edit these, my bloodshot eyes should erase all doubt (I shot the intro last)

"Transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison" has got to be the single strangest sentence I've ever heard come out of Trump's mouth and that's saying a LOT-

“i have concepts of a plan” holy shit that’s what my family hears when they ask what i want to do with my life not what a presidential candidate should be saying

Also. When they were both asked if they had a plan, kamala explained hers, while trump talked about how he was planning his plan.

Who even thought it was a good idea to allow Trump to participate in another debate... Trump's biggest enemy is himself, the more he talks the more delusional he seems

It was absolutely hilarious when Trump said that foreigners were eating their neighbour's dogs, or that doctors were putting birthed babies aside to determine if they should "execute them". He was just saying the same stuff over and over, whether it was an outright lie or things that have been proven as false but he keeps repeating, like him claiming the election was rigged or how amazing he left the country. There was the January 6th discussion, then the rallies, abortion, the wars (Trump's points of the war in Ukraine were laughably horrendous), and a bunch of other smaller topics. Him saying that Harris "doesn't have a plan" after she said multiple plans, then saying he didn't have a plan yet was perfect. And seeing Harris' reactions to Trump's bs was amazing. At some points, she was laughing at how bad they were, then others she was visibly confused like when Trump claimed to have no clue what "Project 2025" was and that he never read into it. There's so much I'd love to ramble about on what he said, cause while it didn't exactly make him seem like more of a fool, it definitely cemented his place as one.

There is one thing though I really want to mention, and that's how they talked. Trump was of course the regular megalomaniac that he always is, basically rambling on about lies, misinformation, and making random stuff up, all while throwing that all into an abyss, not really towards anyone. Harris, however, was completely different. She was talking about relevant topics and making logical sense about them. She went over her plans with certain things (despite Trump repeatedly saying otherwise), and she actually had a target for them. Unlike Trump who was just saying things to say things, Harris was talking to someone. Not just a single person, but to Americans. It felt like she was taking the debate seriously, and she used to to communicate TO Americans.

I'll be honest, I don't keep up with politics much, but I do occasionally see some of the big points, such as Trump saying that Harris "decided to be black" (which of course came up in this debate). Even if Trump was out of the equation and there was an actually mentally stable candidate, Harris is definitely someone I'd trust as being president. She knows what she's doing, and her platform isn't being based off of lies and racism. If I weren't Canadian, I'd vote for her.

For me the most interesting part was Trump saying that he is not involved at all in anything related to Project I need to see how that statement evolves.

The only difference in Biden's and Trump's mental capacity in a debate is that Trump still sounds confident and courageous while he's talking nonsense

Kamala finally did what you have to do when confronting a narcissist. Go for the ego. Trump looked like he was regretting every second of that debate.
