As someone who's spent thirty years learning and teaching about emotions, this is an excellent message about fear. I always say if I'm going to teach about one emotion it would be fear because it's the one that keeps us from feeling everything else and doing what we long to do.

Awesome talk, Jacqueline! Here's to "releasing the handbrake of fear!"

"The fear of change is greater than the fear of staying the same, until you have a vision of where you want to go." As an ADHD child of an alcoholic parent, Jacqueline's personal story is very moving and relatable to me. Learning how to distinguish what is irrational fear and reminding myself that I am enough allows me to fail forward. Thank you, Jacqueline and TEDx folks!

I love the reminder that we create our identity by the stories we tell ourselves. You have so many great reminders and pointers about fear and how it’s our choice to respond. Excellent job!

Brava. Well done. Fear is that powerful subtext we often don't acknowledge. This TEDx talk brings it all to the surface and challenges us to take fear by the hand and move forward, not by denying it but by embracing it. A really smart and inspiring talk.

I believe every entrepreneur is plagued at one time or another with the fear of not being good enough. I really like your re-framing around courage, not necessarily to slay the dragon all in one fell swoop. Start with one positive, courageous thought and action, then the next one, and so on… thus over time, you can achieve extraordinary accomplishments (while working with and through your fears). Great lessons on being brave and leveraging and owning your fears to catapult positive life changes… Take one courageous step after the next, as a journey of 1, 000 miles begins with a single step. Kudos!!!

Jacqueline - Your TEDx talk opened my mind beyond the personal development programs I have attended over the past 4 years. There is a force that has kept me on the same path for years, and after watching your talk, I resonate and understand how fear contributed to it. Thank you for sharing this message.

Remarkable! The journey, the courage, the speech. Your ability to overcome fear and turmoil to become an exceptionally-talented force of nature and conquerer of life is incredible. A real renaissance woman who lifts others up. Well done Jacqueline! Take a bow.

Yes, "It's time to think differently!" Love this. It's time to transform the way we think about an approach fear! "Get comfortable being uncomfortable." Congrats on an amazing presentation. I can't wait to see how this helps people everywhere.

A thought from the realm of neurochemistry: most (if not all) of our human personality difficulties stem from barriers in the brain, disrupting the full flow of information and feelings, put there to seal off something that another part of the brain judged to be "bad", and fears to confront. It's not just the big conscious fears (like "not good enough to do this job"), but all those small hidden ones that tie us down.

"Fear is just a four letter word"... (with profuse apologies to Bob Dylan) - what a wonderful introduction! Thank you, Jacqueline, for all that you have meant to me since that first UPWARD Table of Eight.

What a tremendously insightful talk! Such a helpful look at a daily hinderance that affects us all. I am certain it will bring hope to anyone who watches it, knowing that there are tools and strategies to make fear not an enemy but a catalyst to move foreward. Thank you for so bravely sharing your story! Powerful!!!

"Fearless is not the absence of fear, but the courage to take that next step and the next one, until you're comfortable facing the challenges that come up for you." Wow, this line is SO powerful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your message with the World,  my friend!

Your story of trauma and fear, and your ability to reframe your thinking into a positive, forward-looking vision is truly inspiring Jacqueline. Your statement, "safety is not necessarily being out of danger" but instead is the "willingness to challenge yourself when you get the discomfort...because then you have an opportunity to grow" is such a powerful mantra. It's so important for us to remember that fear, change, challenge, resistance...they all equal growth when we work hard and don't let them break us down.

Great Presentation! The fear factor may be in play when a prospective client doesn't choose your clearly better product or service. It may be fear of making a mistake.

Inspiring words, Jacqueline! It’s easy to let fear hold us back. You give us a great model on how to use it to motivate us to succeed.
