I have been in garden center retail for 25 years (as an employee) and I must say that plants from your nursery are outstanding. I am always stoked when a shipment comes from Overdevest! I'm always proud to walk customers around the grounds to show off your beautiful plants and trees!

David, ..Bobo ( I have 12 planted), Little Lime and Vanilla Strawberry are my current go to hydrangeas. They all are magnificent bloomers and early to flower. This year I bought the new ‘dwarf’ hydrangea Fire Light Tidbit which also were heavy bloomers with smaller flowers (like Bobo) and looking forward to a full year head to head comparison next year. Early indications - and I may be wrong - is that Fire Light seems to change to pink a little quicker. They are beautiful, especially partnered in with the Pugster blue butterfly bush. Provides colour from June to October/November depending on when 1st hard frost hits. Continue to provide great winter contrast through winter. Oh, and yeah, another wonderful tutorial!👍

Thank you for a great video. I have the limelight variety in my front yard and neighbors who walk by always make a comment about how beautiful they are. I still can't believe the size of the blooms! I will try to get some bobos as well. Hydrangeas are gorgeous.

Little Bobo says "your not going to miss me!" Thank you for this great info, David!
I'm always happy to see you. I have a garden area that is planted out, but is also a trial area for others, until they find their home! Gardening is the best way to spend your time in! Very healthy with terrific results 👍 🥰

So beautiful! The ones we have in containers are very floppy right now with the weight of their flower heads. Perhaps we over fertilized and maybe overwatered them. The ones in the ground are all upright and strong.

It's good for our environment if the plant is native to the region.

I always look forward to your informative and well done videos! I have 9 newly planted Bobos. What fertilizer do you recommend?

David, it is my understanding that the Bobo hydrangea is now available in a tree standard form. The specimens I’ve seen all stand about +/- 3 ft tall after being planted. Being a graft, I’ll presume that the head of the standard will be similar to the shrub format as to size and how it carries its blooms. My question to you is, not knowing what the rootstock is, will the stem grow any longer such that the overall tree height reaches, say, 4 - 5 feet or will it be that the stem will only get thicker in time. Thank you in advance.

Does BoBo do ok in shade? Will it flower? The area I want to plant it in gets maybe an hour or two of sun. We are in Illinois zone 5.

I have BOBO but the stems are not like the one you show. My stems are too floppy and the large flowers dip down. It is now 9/7 and the blooms are still pure white. I am zone5 b and this Hydrangea woke early with no winter damage. Love it but would like more dense flowering. I feed well in the Spring and then once more near mid summer. Watered well. Any ideas?

p.s. the nurseries near me within 25 miles, have these Hydrangeas, but they are awful and near dead looking. Very disheartening to see the lack of care these beautiful plants receive once they are in the nurseries.😖 I asked about the total lack of watering and shaping or pruning, and was told it’s not their job! I was actually told that they will all get thrown away😩
