“Whatsoever You Do” is a social justice themed hymn written by Roman Catholic priest, teacher, playwright, folk-composer and author Willard F. Jabusch.

While the hymn is based on Matthew 25:35-36, (Christ's story about sheep and goats at the last judgement, and Jesus teaching that the only grounds for judgement is whether love has been shown to least of God's people), it also fits well with the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

Recorded live at St. Francis de Sales Church, Ajax Ontario Canada by the Sunday 7pm Choir. Thanks for listening and God bless.

Song Title: Whatsoever You Do

Lyrics:

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people
That you do unto me.

When I was hungry, you gave me to eat;
When I was thirsty you gave me to drink.
Now enter into the home of my Father.

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people
That you do unto me.

When I was weary, you helped me find rest;
When I was anxious, you calmed all my fears.
Now enter into the home of my Father.

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people
That you do unto me.

When I was homeless, you opened your door;
When I was naked, you gave me your coat.
Now enter into the home of my Father.

Help a homeless person! Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord! We don't have to look far to see someone in need! Be Christ like this Christmas!!! It's more about Jesus, than the pile of Christmas Gifts.. . Make a difference in someone's life, please! ❤

My husband Christopher Julian age 43 passed away on Oct 3rd 2024. This was his favourite song and he lived upto it. Helped everyone he can till his last. My love is lost forever 💔. May his soul rest in peace ✌️.

I wouldn’t even consider myself religious anymore but this made me cry. Treat EVERYONE the way you’d want to be. Whether or not Jesus was really Gods son or not- his teachings did a service for humanity

I noticed that many people don't follow this...They might go to church, pray for others, and even say grace, but when it comes time to really helping others through their actions or giving them some of their time, buying a meal or giving the poor some money, they are nowhere to be seen or found!

Come on fellow Christians...actions are what really count!

The first time I remember singing this was at a Catholic retreat Mass. I was with total strangers, but I felt so welcome and at peace with them. Beautiful song that tells me how Jesus wants me to live ❤

A beautiful hymn based on the Words of our Lord Jesus. It's not just to be sang but live out in our daily life. May the Spirit of the LORD helps us. Amen.

This was my dear mother’s favorite song. I hope I have sustained the concept in my thoughts and actions.

Fr. Willard Jabusch taught me in the seminary at Mundelein (class of 1988). He was semi-retired at that point and didn’t teach much. He had taught homiletics for years. 💙💙💙
Whenever he celebrated the community Mass we had to sing all his songs!
🙏🙏🙏
