At last! My love for Spider-Man was truly MANIFESTED in this packed edit.

NOW, BEFORE I GET INTO THE DESCRIPTION, I will just mention that below, in the comments, I wrote a very special "essay" regarding the editing process, my thoughts for the story + lyrics, parallels, and other fun stuff. Hope you like that! Anyway, back to the description:

A few months ago, we had a Spider-Man marathon (from Sam Raimi's Trilogy, to Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man films, to the MCU's), which fiercely ignited a practically newfound love of the web-slinging hero in me. So, naturally, I made this: as an expression of my affections, a dedication to the three men who played this amazing hero, and of course, to the Spider-Men themselves. Hope you enjoy!

P.S., I paid maybe way too much attention to a lot of the little details... so within this already packed AMV there are, hidden inside it, a lot of patterns, parallels, and attempts at storytelling (and emphasizing THEIR story)!! See if you can spot them!! And do comment them if you do!

Not the start of the song, BUT, the lyric "write our names in the wet concrete" is a very good way of talking about legacy and how they'll always be remembered, both in their own worlds and in our own. okay 😭 NOW LET'S START

- 0:16 "I was just an only child of the universe and then I found you" I think this is obvious!! They felt alone then they found each other. Bonus points because this line followed up Andrew's Peter saying "I always wanted brothers"
- 0:24 "You are the sun and I am just the planets" I intentionally chose the clip of Peter 3 (Andrew Peter) about to say "I'm lame" to reflect his feelings of inadequacy beside the other Spider-Mans
- 0:33 - "You were too good to be true" emphasizing the earlier point of them being alone and finding each other and it seeming too good to be true!!
- 0:35 "Gold plated" Tom's suit up! Not exactly gold plated but yeah 🤷‍♀️
- 0:38 "But what's inside you? But what's inside you?" what's inside these other versions of Peter Parker!?!? But also... them wondering what's inside themselves? What does it mean to be Peter Parker? What does it take to be Spider-Man??
- 0:42 "I know this whole damn city thinks it needs you, but not as much as I do" speaks for itself 😭
- 0:46 I edited the speed of several other clips so it would fit better/so the timing would be correct, but I didn't even have to TOUCH this one. it just happened to fit perfectly for this part of the song
- 0:54 Two things!! Andrew skateboarding ended up there by accident when I was moving around clips and I thought it looked rlly cool so I kept it, and Tobey swinging after Tom was intentional so it could maybe look connected
- 1:01, 2:16, 3:23 "I'm here in search of your glory" every time this line comes it shows Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man And I didn't realize it at first but now I realize it's perfect???? cause they were there helping Tom Holland Peter find his glory in a way I guess idk this made more sense in my head????
- 1:03, 2:19, 3:26 Every single "there's been a million before me" has it cut to each of the Spider-men! it goes by so fast but I loved finding clips for that.
But specifically, for the 1st "there's been a million before me" I had them all take off their masks on purpose
- 1:06 That ultra kind of love = the love of Aunt May and Uncle Ben
- 1:08 You never walk away from = the Spider-men mourning them but they can never walk away from their love 😭 It'll always be with them ajdjjsjd
- 1:11 acrobatic swinging and leaping!!
- 1:19 I intentionally chose scenes where they fought without masks cause why not
- 1:32 "I am a collapsing star with tunnel vision, but only for you, but only for you" ofc this is for their MJs/Gwen who else could it be for 😭
- 1:41 "My head is stripped like a screw that's been tightened too many times" Andrew's Peter being completely lovestruck and hopping away fit way too perfectly here
- 1:45 "--when I think of you, when I think of you" Peter and their MJs/Gwen just being beside each other
- 1:48 "I will shield you from the waves. If they find you I will protect you" speaks for itself 😭
- 1:57 Peter in his suit, wounded and maskless and they're just looking at MJ/Gwen 😭
- 2:01 Tobey Maguire didn't have a forehead touch scene BUT THE FOREHEAD TOUCH SCENES. THE PARALLELS. IT CUTS FROM GWEN AND PETER TO PETER AND MJ AND ANDREW PETER WATCHING THEM SADLY
- 2:08 I felt like the drums sounded like a crash through the window and then the elevator breaking so 🤔
- 2:16"I'm here in search of your glory" strikes again!
- 2:19 the second "there's been a million before me"!!! it's supposed to be them turning around because of spidey sense but Tobey Maguire had no scene like that darn Tobey Maguire ruining parallels (I still love u Tobey)
- 2:21 that ultra kind of love I guess is them starting to feel that love for each other!!?
- 2:26 MORE awesome swinging clips!
- 2:33 a blink and you'll miss it moment - each of them get thrown backwards in that specific angle one after the other, then them falling in that specific angle, also the falling scene cutting in that specific way to the beat but not the obvious beat, aka upbeat / syncopation as my good friend told me it's called!!
- 2:42 "I'm here at the beginning of the end" the clips I picked here were intentionally before the battle and then after it. Also, the start of the possible end of the multiverse
- 2:47 "the end of infinity with you" them just being together after the battle while the universe is literally breaking--the end of infinity
- 2:59 "I'm done with having dreams" SUPPOSED to be like a quick flashback for MCU Tom when he was just broken and he had lost all hope but the others were there for him
- 3:03 "Oh, you drain all the fear from me" Tobey's and Andrew's Peter being overwhelmed and afraid and they look towards Tom's Peter because they trust him. and then the flashback ends hmm
- 3:08 "I'm done with having dreams
The thing that I believe
You drain the fear from me" NO need for dreams anymore, because it's REAL. Just... them LOVING EACH OTHER AND TRUSTING EACH OTHER!! and KNOWING THEY DRAIN THE FEAR FROM EACH OTHER!! THEY ARE NO LONGER ALONE!!
- 3:15 by the last chorus all the clips are from No way home. THE JOURNEY HAS LED THEM TO THIS
- 3:19 the way Tom flipped looks like how the guy sang it idk if that makes sense but I did that several times on other sections
- 3:23 "I'm here in search of Ur glory" part 3!!
- 3:26 "there's been a million before me" part 3!!
- 3:28 "That ultra kind of love" = them bonding and developing an ultra kind of love for their Spidey bros 😭
- 3:30 "you never walk away from" first, yes, the iconic landing scene (sped up to fit the timing better), two, yes... because after all this, they'll forever remember that they aren't alone 😭
- 3:34 there isn't any transition between these two clips actually! it just looks that way because of Electro's lightning flash. Just thought that was cool
- 3:44 AND FINALLY: I didn't know how to end the vid and I was struggling cause the music felt so upbeat and action packed that I thought the last few scenes would be swinging and fighting but then I realized that them saying goodbye to each other fit perfectly...
- 3:49 ...and then them jumping out of the frame!! it could've been them landing but I feel like the jumping out fit much better
