This is basically the hatchback version of Corolla E150. I don't know much about the Kenyan market, but here in Holland there is a preference for hatchbacks because they are more versatile in carrying cargo. You can carry longer and larger items, because of the larger opening at the back, especially after folding the rear seats. A small sedan like the Corolla is limited in this aspect. When you can only own 1 car, a hatchback is normally the better choice.

I have driven an Auris before and I can honestly say I loved that car, it didnt feel small or light, its actually carries its weight well and drives very well and its fast too. It's generally a nice car to be honest I cant hate it..id rather get this than an axio.

The ease of maintenence makes the car have high demand. I believe the high price is dependent in the demand.. Most people want the car coz that will give them peace of mind

I have driven the both this and an Axio, the Auris is heavier and more stable. Axio feels like a feather.

That price doesn't make sense at all. You mean it has appreciated?? That car was bought for less as a new import, it was aprox 850k. Its being sold at a profit after 6 years of use.

Great content, my brother. Watching from South Africa. I drive the 2011 Toyota Auris 1.6 XR Valvematic engine. It's a great daily runner. Generally, Toyota cars in RSA are overpriced because Toyota is such a strong brand. Simplicity & low maintenance is also a key factor...

Fast forward to YOM 2018 when Toyota introduced TNGA and the Auris is repackaged as one of the most attractive hatchbacks, namely the Corolla Sport. The Auris is an important model to the Corolla heritage because it carries the shape & size they want for the mainstream Corolla going forward.
