For reference as a tree planter our camp of 80 planters puts in ~10 million trees in our season of 3 months. I love team Trees :)

You have to respect the amount of perseverance and the drive of Mr beast. I really don't think there's anything that he and his team is not capable of doing at this point. Incredible human being 💯

Planting 20 million trees is pretty doable when you have resources and reach at this level. The difficulty is in finding enough locations that truly need it and will benefit from it.

The main example of places that would benefit is in communities that are underfunded and understaffed in the arborist arena, and the main places that would benefit is along the sides of roads that get too much direct sunlight. Especially when the road runs north and south, having trees on one side of the road makes a massive difference in wear and tear. Where I live right now is the exact type of place that I'm talking about- one arborist for a community of over 100k. If you look at two different north-south streets where one has good shade and the other does not, and they have the same amount of traffic, the road that has shade needs about one third the cost and amount of maintenance. It makes a huge difference.

So ask yourself this. In these types of communities where people actually live and benefit from this, how many trees would you have to plant in order to give really good shade and coverage for the areas that need it? I will suggest that step one is talk to an arborist that's dealing with this type of situation, find out how many trees would be required, and start thinking about how you'd cover the cost of getting that done. Once you have a number and a process, that tells you how many other comparable communities it would take in order to get to 20 million.

That's just in the US, though. You might get a fraction of the way there with this approach, but if you're able to coordinate a large event in- let's say- 50 different countries, I think you're doing okay if you get a fraction of the total in the US and Canada.

You don't want to plant trees just to plant them, and you don't want the trees to have a super low survival rate. I do think that you can get some numbers here, though. Arborists in general would love to have more trees without needing to fight with their local government over funds. Even in areas that are well served by arborists, I'm sure you could ask them if there's a certain type of tree that they'd like to have planted in significant numbers and if they're just given that, would they mind helping out with an area that's underserved by arborists.

I guess the point is, when you get arborists talking to each other and the prospect of a bunch more trees is on the table, they can do some numbers for you and they can make sure the trees go where they're needed and that they'll be looked after. You might be surprised how many trees can be usefully planted in a particular area. 20 million is a lot, for sure, but how many arborists would you Really need to talk to?

Grasslands are kind of being planted in because people are just equating trees with good for the environment but grasslands are a huge part of our environment and as important so pplz keep that in mind. Obviously you've done tons of charity work and have already steps to remove plastic from our oceans which we get most of our oxygen from in fact ❤ it's just that sometimes people think that I know there's just one stop shop we can fix everything... but life's and grasslands a big part of the ecosystem for American wildlife and planting trees in those areas is not actually beneficial to when you're planting trees you should be replacing not destroying

My father recently passed away and one of his friends Hade to have 20 trees planted in his name in The Jefferson National Forest. A living Memorial to him like that is just priceless

The best way to "plant" 20 million trees would be to raise money to known conservation organizations that plant trees and do a video series. The boosted awareness would make it a lot easier to get volunteers. Even if it only happens once the trees will last a lifetime.

In general, Mr beast has demonstrated to make good use of his money. Really Worthy of being loved so much.
The only reason I don’t praise him more for it is because… the strange things he sometimes does with it. Like the crazy amounts of random stuff he often buy.
