Doubles strategy is a great direction to go in terms of content. This is what most recreational players want to learn about. Thanks!

Great video, but even better is the "racket in flight" in the background at 4:43.... Maybe she wasn't hitting her volley's well that day.

Love all your tips for improving. Explanations and delivery of your topics make it easier to understand. I do have a topic I would like to see about which is reading a poach. I haven't found any content on this. When receiving serves or even groundstrokes, knowing when a opponent is going to poach. When should you stop keeping your eyes on the net player as your hitting etc. I've played against some net players where I can't figure out if they're poaching or not and I keep setting them up for a easy put away.

@playyourcourt - Good tips, will try to implement. But how do you anticipate the ball and know when to start making your move forward? By the time I'm thinking "I should go", the ball is already passing me by, and I don't feel like I'm in good enough position to cut it off. Should I start farther back in the box? Thanks!

You only want to move forward if you are not lobbed. So if you jump jump and then go right - isn't that opening you up for the lob? Same with the return of serve like step and split idea.

The issue for players in doubles is that they are not really comfortable with the volley in singles. It’s like being a basketball player who is uncomfortable with driving to the basket so they always shot from outside. I like to run a three ball drill and start players at mid court. I drop and hit so they split step. The objective is to continue to move forward as each ball is hit. You got to do the drills to build the skills and practice the way you want to play. Just some advice from an old high school tennis coach.
