Welcome to Retrospective! In this playlist, we look back at noteworthy products in history and put them to the test in the present! The Nvidia GTX 750 Ti was a very popular graphics card "back in the day" thanks to its power efficiency and affordable price... but how viable is it TODAY? Let's discuss and test!

This was a brilliant gateway into PC gaming back in 2014. The number of office computers it turned into gaming PCs must be huge.

This card has been kept in use in my group of friends since 2014 😂. I had a friend whose computer literally burst into flames and we managed to save it so for a while he was still rocking my 750ti in 2023

My first card was also a GTX 750 Ti. This card was advertised as a PS4 equivalent/killer at the time. It only released 4 months after the PS4 at $150. It was a solid option at the time as a first time builder.

The Maxwell architecture was so damn power efficient that the card did not need any power connectors and just needed 75 W from the PCIe slot. The efficiency of the architecture was so great that it made its way over to the Nintendo Switch on a smaller 20 nm node in the form of the Tegra X1. I'd say this is in the top 10 for most important cards made in the 2010s onward.

Still rocking the system I built in December of 2012, Amd FX 8320 Black, EVGA GTX 660 2 GB Superclocked, 16 gigs DDR3, ASUS Motherboard, and Samsung 830 SSD. OS is Win 10 Pro. Am upgrading soon, but at gaming this setup is still a screamer, as in all fans scream, and the cpu and gpu cry.

I still have my old 750ti in my grandmother’s PC. Perfect for browsing the internet and watching videos in 1440p

Had this exact card. On an Asus Z97C with an i5 and a Seagate 1Tb hybrid drive. Absolutely loved it.
Eventually upgraded to Sapphire Radeon RX 580. Still using that card in one of my rigs today.

Id be messaging that seller telling them the card wasn't new and either return it or get a partial refund. That flat out fraud imo and Id be letting eBay know and giving negative feedback.

Amazing that this GPU is still getting driver support. Was pleasantly shocked to find this out while building a recent budget banger PC

I built my first gaming pc in 2014. Two years later, a poorly coded game overclocked my gpu without increasing the fan speed, resulting in damage that caused the card's performance to slowly degrade over time. When youtube videos started to jump around like a VHS tape with screwed up tracking, I realized I had to replace it.

I crunched some numbers (I was seriously broke.) read some articles, watched some vids and settled on the ASUS version of this gpu. It worked beautifully until 2020, when the aging pc it was part of was shelved in favor of a new build.

A year later, it came off the shelf and went into my mom's old pc, to replace her dying gpu. Many of her games wouldn't load at all, some would load and then immediately crash, and those that did run ran poorly, leaving them unplayable. Mom was the biggest gamer in the family, and my little Nvidia Geforce 750ti got her pc running again. She was so happy - she gamed more than all four of her kids combined, so she was happy to have her pc back online as it were. She sadly passed away after a year of working my old card hard, but it made that year a good one, with hours and hours of gaming. It's still in her old pc, sitting, untouched, in her room, and I can't bring myself to ask for it back.

My first ever PC build had a GTX 750 (non-Ti). Loved that PC, got me through a lot of gaming in my teenage years. I still have it lying around. Glad to see these retrospectives! Everyone is so focused on the latest and greatest, it's nice to reminisce every now and then.
