The Lollars seem to be more snappy and smooth while the Fender E.J. are more rounded and present at 360 degrees, perhaps more suitable for that type of guitar. I see the Lollars as more suitable for the Strats from the early-mid 60s with a rosewood fretboard.

Both very good pickups. And fairly similar in multiple respects. I think I heard the Lollars are hotter. Easier to get a bigger helping of grit when you dig in. And maybe just an ever so slightly greater degree of dynamic from the EJ's during software finessing, which would make sense. I went back and forth about which one I preferred as the pickup positions changed. I wouldn't mind one of each to be honest. EJ wins for me, but not by much. But that may be influenced by the fact I just bought a set and they arrive Monday, too. Great video. Can't wait to install mine now.

50s Strat pickups imo sound better than 60s clean. Best pickup strat pickup is Lollar Dirty Blonde. They are better than 64/Blackface. Dirty Blonde is best Strat pickups period imo

Must be different magnets in them. Fender sound like alnico 5.
