What is it about the lives of child stars that fascinates us so much? Maybe it’s the fascination of watching someone grow up in the harsh glare of the spotlight. Maybe it’s that many of us were kids when we were watching them, and identified with them more than adult actors. And maybe it’s that so many kids crack under the pressure of so much early fame and go on to lead car crashes of lives. Whatever the reason, child stars are immensely interesting so let’s take a look at some from one of the best decades of all.I’m Nostalgic Nick for Doyouremember, and today we’re going to be catching up with some of the biggest child stars of the 1960s. For this list we tried to choose actors who you may have lost track of a little bit - for example if you don’t know what Ron Howard has been up to over the last couple decades then maybe you should pull your head out of the sand. Be sure to hit the thumbs up and subscribe to our channel, but now, let’s see if the kids truly are alright!

The site that takes you back!

I met Angela Cartwright a year or so after the end of Lost In Space, in Los Gatos, Ca. Still have the B&W pics we took together. A great memory.

Angela Cartwright started on the Danny Thomas show years before Lost in Space.

Lisa Loring kept her straight-faced deadpan demeanor with those Addams Family scripts, like the young professional that she was. She turned out to be a beautiful lady as well.

I really enjoyed this flashback to the old shows I watched in the past when they first appeared.

Tommy Rettig was the first Timmy on "Lassie" and ended in the software business in the 80s. Congenital cardiac problem took him from us in 1996. He was an advocate for child stars along with Tony Dow.

This video is totally awesome. I enjoyed this trip down memory lane. I was born in 1956 and grew up in the 60's. There is one child star that was in everything from TV to movies. Even doing voice over work and her career stretched into the 70s. Do you remember Pamelyn Ferdin? She was in an episode of Star Trek (tos); season 3, episode 4, And the Children Shall Lead. Ms. Ferdin was also the voice of Lucy Van Pelt in a few Charlie Brown TV specials.

The weird thing is, I still think of them as the children actors they were. When I see them as adults, it simply doesn't register...

Tabitha is a given. She was so adorable in Bewitched. She was an amazing actress for a child her age.

Nicely done. I had major crushes on Lisa Loring and Angela Cartwright. I had forgotten that Butch Patrick was in Lidsville. Loved that show and later on in the 70s my friends and I would sing the song when rolling a J from a "lid" of weed. I remember laughing my (hat) off when my friend made reference to the psychedelic antics of the Hat people and the zaniness of the villain play by Charles Nelson Reilly. Don't forget Brandon Cruz of the "Courtship of Eddie's Father" (1969). Brandon went on to front the (n)hardcore punk band, Dr. Know. He is a excellent musician and really down to earth guy.
