Just based on the title, we KNOW that whenever there is ANY disruption to the supply of oil, major oil corporations will exploit it to their profit. In fact, oil producers have _created_ such disruptions purely _for_ that purpose. Yes, oil corporations gouge the public every chance they get. So do insurance companies, banks, and big pharma.

ABOUT TIME! When crude prices increase, the gas at the pump increases. That fuel was refined months before!

This is a broken record. Every time there is a sudden jump in oil prices, you get an immediate increase in the price of fuel. However, if the price of oil decreases suddenly there is no immediate decrease in fuel prices. And when it does come down it is not to the pre-increase price. In Jan. 99 oil was $20/ barrel, gas was $1/ gal. Despite oil returning to $20/ barrel in May 2020 gas prices were $2/ gallon. BTW $20 in 1999 dollars is $11.74 so the oil was even cheaper than its 1999 cost.

Gee, $4 to $6/gallon, wow. Here in Oz we're paying equivalent of $7.50 to $9/US gallon! We should be so lucky. But admittedly we do have a higher minimum wage.
