Tired of supporting a Filipina's family? Does the mere subject always lead to arguments and tension? Well you might not know it (and neither did I), but it's actually the law in the Philippines that a child must provide necessary financial support to their entire family if needed! Yup, you heard me right, and today we have attorney Gracey to explain the legal consequences of several controversial situations. You might be tired of supporting a Filipina's family, but she may have no choice!

As a foreigner attorney, my thoughts are: 1) what would stop me from just picking up and moving to a new island or leaving the Philippines entirely and ignoring the lawsuit and 2) most foreigners leave their money in their home country, so how would a successful plaintiff under this law collect on his judgment against me? If I ever got sued like this I’d just waive goodbye and disappear.

Thank you Pea. I only have a few years left to live. And I worked 50 years for my money. I want to live my last years in peace. Not being an ATM machine. I'll stay single. Thank you for being so honest!

As a seventeen-year veteran of marriage to a Filipina I cannot say that this surprises me. Remember guys, when you marry a Filipina, you don't marry an individual; you marry a family. Your wife comes with many financial obligations. Be aware of this before you marry her, and if you don't want these expectations, don't get married.

There is a law being submitted for the male to take a DNA test before signing the birth certificate. The woman can be held criminal if making false statement on the man. Don't know how far this bill is. My state is doing this. Tennessee.

Why the hell, at retirement age, should I...
1) get married
2) cohabitate
3) impregnate
4) raise some other fool's kids
5) tie myself down inconveniently
6) throw away all the peace, quite, rest, adventure and fun.. that I had been working my whole life for
7) make myself more valuable dead than alive
8) support an entire clan of strangers that weren't there for me when my a$$ was in pain working with ailments all those years
9) give into a self defeating trend of stu_pid decision making
10) make myself more miserable with drama
11) leave one stressful life for another
12) put myself at a disadvantage
13) subject myself to people's bullsh$t
14) do anything other than enjoying my life in my retirement?

WHY???

To each their own!
✌️

When I was on active duty and stationed in the Philippines, there was an adage bandied about - “Marry the girl, marry the family”. This makes it legal. Prettiest lawyer in the PI. Thanks Pea!

Attorney Gracey...! So great to see her again. Her insight and correct interpretation of the law is always a most trusted and valued asset to your channel, Pea. Just because something is made law doesn't guarantee that people will follow it. People break laws and/or misinterpret or have someone do that for them so they don't have to follow them. Especially if those laws don't align with their lifestyle and/or beliefs. Because I date to marry, anyone that I am in a relationship with that I care about and love, if I have the means to provide some sort of allowance and/or resources to assist their family members, I would do so. Especially if they are trying to help themselves. If they don't want the help then that is their choice and not mine. One cannot be victimized by these people and we have to establish boundaries to safeguard ourselves. If I were to be blessed with a life partner I would consult one like Gracie but at this time in my life I WANT to leave the woman in a much better financial situation than I found her when I am gone. Great Video, Pea. My regards to Gracie and her asawa too! Ingat Ka..!

Dating a Filipina girl, one word “ Run”! Not only you will need to open your heart and also your wallet, because you will become a walking atm automatically

Forced family alimony, sounding too westernized now, no thanks. So much for relocating to the Philippines, I'll travel somewhere else to enjoy life and find a partner. ✌

I'd never marry for all the reasons brought forward. Get yourself a p/t cute maid/cook and let her earn "extra" on occasions. No need for live in. Guys if you lose your cash it's on you!

my wife's parents are no longer around but we did build my wife mother a house before she past on. and now we pay one of her sister to stay at the house because it is in the jungle. and we support one other sister for nursing school. and living while in collage. It really sucks because we work hard for our money.
