Rank resets are a trash formula for a game like OW. Unless it’s a FULL start over reset. Because games take long it can take weeks just to get back to your old rank. Games are long this is uncalled for

From my experience on Tank, I've now played 100 matches on Tank (7 sets of 7 wins) with a 50% win rate, and still this not enough to undo the rank decay and go back to where I was last season, this is so frustrating even though I have good stats and I used to be a tank main in OW1 so my best role is Tank and I managed to climb back up to where I was on the other 2 roles, the feel of climbing up behind this decay system (by devs philosophy) is not even working atleast for me on Tank .
The season is almost over and I'm still 1 division lower compared to last season on Tank.
My goal was to climb up by 1 division on 3 roles, I did it on DPS after 7 sets of 7 wins, but looks like that goal is not realistic to achieve on all 3 roles .
And what's even worse, there is a possibility players will get hit with the same rank decay system again next season, and the grind and frustrating continues.

You will NOT clime as support regardless of how well you preform in a match. Your rank as a support is determined on how well your dps and tank perform. This is the problem… as if support didn’t have it difficult enough already.

I think it's should be a very minor reset like gold 3 to gold 5 and vise versa.

I’m around plat but usually the tanks I get have no skin (usually means there new) and there endorsement is level 1 (also probably means there new) and play like dps they have no communication. There also playing a really bad dive as Reinhardt or dva

I mean, its kinda cool that bad players cannot camp their boosted ranks and have to prove that this is the rank they deserve, but it is also a bad thing, because the quality of games will stay the same (means you still playing vs your rank in previous season, but have to do more competitive updates only to be able to go higher) and this system manually tries to increase amount of players online. Its should be a less noticeable reset like for 1-3 divisions and maybe even no reset at all if player is currently at his peak, when the rank is significally higher compared to other seasons.

i will only play for bp. after reaching max bp lvl every season will stop play ow2 completely. there is no point grinding in current unfair matchmaking rank system at all.

You should double check your facts, hidden mmr and the effect of individual performance work differently then how you stated, I agree with you though and think it’s a slight issue especially because matchmaking is purely based off of mmr not rank

it still could be just win/loss ratio compared to the population. What is your source saying that for dps its dmg/10 (bastion vs widow = unfair then), support heals/10 (poor zen mains).
I think it is still the old climbing system from ow1.

Overwatch 2 is a mistake in everything, ranked more than all (economic system too of course but it doesn't affect directly the game if we take appart that new heros are unlockable only at some battlepass rank
