As soon as I saw a mysterious guy go for the "bow" instead of the shotgun I knew it was hawkeye, plus his attitude towards the SHIELD agent.

They did a great job with this movie. I went in with low expectations (Thinking to myself; "I wonder how they are going to make Thor cool) and left BLOWN away

It was so sad, this scene, because I actually thought the hammer would light up and immediately slip from the rock or something when Thor touched it because it belongs to him, but it didn't! I was devastating

I really love Thor. He's so funny when he speaks and I love his fight with the Hulk in the Avengers.

Thor did say Fought Bigger (i got the movie last week and had it with caption on) i guess Thor was referring to the fact he had fought bigger enemies like the Frost Giants. This scene with Thor trying to recover his hammer was actually longer, Couson (the SHIELD agent) was calling the marksman by Barton(Barton is Hawkete's last name)

@Toyman1982 If you actually watched the movie, he has a few scenes. Where he's getting his bow (over a sniper rifel) where he's heading up into the crows nest, and a few shots where he's talking to his boss, and getting ready to take down Thor..

also, a cameo sometimes is just being in the background. So him being in there for a second is enough for a cameo. But yeah he was in there for a lot more than a second

I loved the avengers so I went to see this film in the theatre and when the agent reached for the bow instead of the sniper I knew it was hawkeye and I got one of those fanboy moments when Coulson said Barton

I agree, this isnt the whole thing. There was some dialogue between him and Couldon where they close-up on Jeremy Renner's face and bow.

Wow. I need to read up on my comics. I had no idea that was Hawkeye. It seems so obvious now.

he's in the scene before this one and the one after it.

In the before scene agent Coulson asks for his help and his arms are seen trying to pick out a weapon and he picks out a bow.

Then after this scene Hawkeye is still on that pully-cart aiming at Thor asking Coulson if he can shoot his arrow and Coulson tells him not yet like 2 times.

@Toyman1982 And stan lee was in a truck and had 1 line and was shown on screen for 2 secs... Their called cameos.. Just a guy with a Bow? They refered to him as Barton.. As in, Clint Barton who is Hawkeye.

Anyway, a lot of people especially the geeks/fanboys knew that Hawkeye would make a cameo in Thor since Marvel revealed it before the release. And the fact that this film would serve as a prequel to The Avengers, Hawkeye's appearance in the film was highly anticipated by the fans

@putozen Hawkeye is a Marvel character, one of the Avengers who wears a purple suit with bow and arrows. You better search images/videos of Hawkeye on Google or even here on Youtube to see what he looks like.
