Just a reminder that Azor does not prevent people from casting Instants and Sorceries until the next turn. It prevents opponents from casting Instants and Sorceries on their next turn. Everyone could have cast instants on the other players' turns.

My playgroup often does Planechase EDH, but we have learned to take out some of the poorly balanced and less fun planes to keep the game moving on pace.

Edit: leave it to Derek to miss 2 different infinite combo loops in the same game with the same deck XD

A note on Azor, you said players can't cast instant or sorceries until Mark's next turn, but in fact, Azor just prevent them from playing instants/sorceries during their turn. Meaning that they can play instants during others's turn (or sorceries if they can play at instant speed somehow).

Sad to see Trial of the Mage Rings zoom by without any effect. One of my favorite EDH Planechase memories is resolving a Kindred Summons with rebound while playing Elves.

The game probably would have turned out entirely different without two things - Master of Cruelties and the Teferi's Moat. Having to force Chris into blocking or end up going to 1 kept him from being able to control the board.


Also, every time that I get Kiki and Zealous I do the same thing because when I originally put the deck together it wasn't for an infinite attackers, so now, even in other decks with those two cards I always forget that I can do silly things with those two. Kiki is usually used to copy something like Workhorse or a Deathbringer Thoctar, and Zealous is to steal a threat and sac it like I did here.

Bit of advice for anyone ever wanting to play planechase, Get the old dice from the actual Planechase sets. They roll way better than the big clunky one you get in the Anthology.

I made the effort to get the old one, and I even found sleeves that fit oversized cards an d a deck box for them. Its really nice having that available to play when folks want to.
