First time hearing Bloodborne music! | 'Laurence, The First Vicar' Reaction!

I have never played or heard anything from Bloodborne before and what a treat to have this as my first introduction! Hope you will enjoy my reaction and thoughts on the song.

Aw man Bloodborne is one of my absolute favorites of all time. Ludwig the Accursed/Holy Blade is such a banger on this OST

Also yeah, FromSoft usually uses Latin-sounding nonsense languages for their choir parts but in Bloodborne and specifically these tracks from the DLC have the choirs written in actual Latin and they tell the stories of the bosses they represent in this kind of fourth-wall-breaking Greek-chorus way.

Many will say Ludwig, the Holy Sword is the best Bloodborne song, but that's because it's the popular thing to say. Not to mention, Laurence is an optional boss. So already many will never hear his masterpiece. But this is the best song in the entire game. Not to say Ludwig's isn't amazing. It absolutely is. However it pales in comparison to the First Vicar.

One of Fromsoft's best examples of good intentions taking you to dark places. In keeping with the story of Bloodborne, the lyrics convey a plague of beasts and the use of 'holy blood' (sanguine sanctus) to achieve their goal. Unbeknownst to Laurence, the holy blood was the source of the beast scourge.

You definitely hear that this is a holy mission with tragic consequences. This and Gherman are my absolute favorite pieces from FromSoft.
