Ive watched hundreds of videos about Spotify play listing and I must say Andrew your videos are the most insightful in my opinion keep up the good work you probably dont realize how much your helping us.

If every artist "pays" for streams, it waters down the value of Spotify. Someone wanted me to add his song to my large playlist, when i said "no" he got really upset with me, but his song was soooo bad, but it seems like he didnt realise how bad his music was and just wanted the streams. This is the problem, artists think their music is actually better than what it is, and feel "entitled " to the streams. They will do anything to "inflate" their numbers, including paying to be on playlists.

Don't bother with playlists. FB Ads are worth running. But content is king. You can't force people streaming or engaging with you. They need to feel attached to your brand and they will take action not because you ask them but because they want to.

I feel afraid of these playlist services. Some might be legit. But the first promotion i ever did was a bot driven service. Almost got a takedown but they understood the situation and gave me a strike only.
I'm sticking with ads haha. Almost had a heartattack.

The only weird and skeptical thing about this is the fact that turn nobody down, it says guaranteed your song will be added which screams bots to me, so they guarantee a bunch of trash songs will be added to a playlist, who's really listening to them songs?

It's always fishy to me how they can guarantee reach regardless of genre. Like yeah, I can see getting 100k follower reach on a pop song not being that hard, but what if you're releasing dubstep or metal or ambient? How can they still guarantee the same reach when the audience/playlists for those genres are so much smaller?

I left a comment yesterday but somehow it was deleted. I have a campaign with them running right now. As you said in the video i really do think you have got the VIP treatment here. I'm 350 dollars down and have seen no significant jump in streams. In fact one of the playlists i was placed on i'm not even on there, and it's a 25k or something like that. The stream count i'm getting seems to be from submit hub submissions. We are only 75% placed into the campaign so i will reserve judgement until the campaign is over. I'd still rather have low genuine streams than thousands of bots anyway but i'm not 100% convinved by them yet. Will see in the coming days and get back to you.

Thank you for the videos Andrew. I see the synths in the back and I wonder if you have ever attempted to make experimental electronic music. This is the music that I make and I realize it is very niche and hard to promote. My songs right now are just experiments mainly for me and anyone else who wants to listen to them, but eventually I want to make a song worth promoting.

I also saw your youtube artist page and I have a question that I cannot find the answer to anywhere at all: I make ad money already from my Youtube artist Topic channel even though it does not have the required subscribers or views for making money from adsense, if I convert to an Official Artist Channel would I still make money from ads? Or would I have to grind to 1000 subs and the required view count? If you have an answer I would love to know and again, thanks for the tips!

Hey Andrew, so I’ve been doing FB ads like you have shown for a few months now. But I have a specific problem. I’m an indie christian artist and FB won’t let me target any Christian artists. Any idea what I should do??

That’s normal human nature, you don’t expect people to like your song from the start. So that’s why you need to keep posting and pushing it to then so when they hear it like 20 times at least more number of people will be able to like it. Maybe you should target a audience that has a habit of liking songs, sharing songs and adding it to playlists of people that always share songs as well, it’s all habits and behaviors targeting. That’s why it’s good to target similar demographics and genre first to gain the solid engagement and then target the other people later on

Growing the fan base, making cover songs and just releasing every 2-3 weeks is the best and cheapest way. It takes longer of. But it does not help me having listeners from Mexico when i want a gig in Scandinavia. Cuz we all wanna perform live?:)

Hey Andrew,
I've been a fan of your videos for awhile. I have a question though... When you talk about spotify policies and paying for bottled streams goes against their policies...doesn't paying to be on playlists go against their policies too? That's what iv'e read on spotify and they warn against it.
Is this a grey area or is it black and white? I'm just confused on what's legal and what's not?
I would appreciate your feedback!
