This village was a refugee camp where refugees lived during the Korean War. There were many redevelopment plans, but most of the residents were elderly, so they opposed the redevelopment. Therefore, Busan gave up redevelopment and drew various murals under the name of village regeneration. Since then, the unique atmosphere of the neighborhood has become famous. Now, it has become a representative tourist destination in Busan, and it is a neighborhood visited by 2 million tourists a year. (60% is foreign tourists) so basically this neighborhood is a poor village where only the elderly live, and it has become a tourist destination. And most elderly people in this neighborhood live their lives unrelated to tourism income. irony
