Tybalt battles Mercutio In this insane rapier duel to the death.
Watch as we crank Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet up to 11!

If you love Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, then you'll love this action-packed rapier duel to the death. This is a battle you won't want to miss!

We took weeks to choreograph and practice this epic bit of stage combat. The fight is constructed from REAL HEMA rapier work, but we have ratcheted the intensity up as high as it goes!

Really hope this gets the views it deserves. We are so used to modern film fights that this looks "tame" in comparison... But this is also made by a crew that actually cares about accuracy. Arghhhh.... Splendid job team!

I was literally at the edge of my seat, even though I knew how it would end 😂
As a (former) theater kid I enjoyed this one A LOT!

"Now, Tybalt, take the villain back again,
That late thou gavest me; for Mercutio's soul
Is but a little way above our heads,
Staying for thine to keep him company:
Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him."

Ok, I love everything about this!
The action itself is already killer on its own, with its blend of believable and realistic rapier fighting and typical stage combat. But the acting of both Tybalt and Mercutio just adds so much personality to it. Even just small things like Mercutio's smirk at times does so much to convey a lot about them.

Would love to see more re-enactments and interpretations like this!

This was amazing, loved seeing your take on the duel.
I don't know how to describe it, but to me at least, it seemed Tybalt was the more aggressive fighter of the two here, leading most of the exchanges. Dunno if it was intentional to the degree I interpreted, but the different techniques seemed to reflect their characters a bit while still making sense in terms of tactics. Especially with Mercutio pointing Romeo away from the duel at the start, that was a nice touch!
Wonderful stuff, glad I got to see it!

That Tybalt fleeing is hell on point acting wise! Next we see Romeo fight Tybalt right?

You can tell it's Shakespeare just by the dialogue lol

Oh this is extra cool to me because my HEMA club studies George Silver who was a contemporary of Shakespeare and my instructor wrote an essay on this fight with the theory that Mercutio fights in the English style and Tybalt in the Italian style. A cool detail is that Mercutio's name might be a pun of George Silver's, as Mercutio -> Mercury -> quick silver -> George Silver. The essay was called Silver and the Fights in Shakespeare by Paul Wagner and is an interesting read.

The year is 2064. SellswordArts lost his arm in a duel gone wrong and now has a robotic arm. He has mastered the art of reverse grip, and is far superior than any normal grip wielder.

Really well executed, especially that ending! Really "twisted the knife" on the whole situation ;)
