Honking on The Roads in Israel - The End?

Discover how advanced technology is being used by the municipality to identify and fine drivers who honk unnecessarily. Honking can be disruptive and harmful, contributing to noise pollution and stress in urban environments. The system can distinguish between different honks in noisy environments, aiming to create a cleaner, quieter, and better city. Although the municipality wants to end unnecessary honking, they still need government approval to implement this system.

In 2023 I visited Israel. There was an accident on the highway between Jerusalem and the airport. All the lanes were blocked. My taxi driver was honking like mad. I hope it made him feel better to vent his frustration by honking. Where i live it is illegal to honk and he definitely would have had a ticket. Here's to less noise pollution.

So interesting! Here in New York City it is a major problem, as well. I hope we get this new technology here too. Thank you for the video.

My girlfriend and I want to visit Israel next year, but I really hate honking cars. I hope the campaign makes some impact. :)

I think honking whilst driving is very unpolite because it disturbs you as urban peace is very important. I don't know the situation in Israel, but here in Italy it is terrible and this especially in the cities when, for example a driver goes slowly and there is someone immediately behind who honks at you. Terrible!! Thank you Doron for sharing🍀🪻

We have these laws in sweden and swedish culture is very "do not bother other people and think about other peoples circumstances" and there is still tons of honking in major cities. Honking is so ingrained in Israeli life at this point i doubt fining people for it will change much at this point haha.

I Norway we almost never honk, only if there is an acute dangerous situation, or if a car isn't moving after 5 seconds on a green light. I personally haven't used the horn in my car for months. We don't use it like they do in Israel, just to release some steam or tell someone to hurry etc. It seems to me like hot countries honk more than cold countries, for some reason.
