Placing the "working" ears on the top of their head would mean their entire ear canal would have to be rerouted entirely. Space is also a problem here since our ear canal goes deep into our heads, hence why we have ears on the side of our heads because it has more room. On the top of our heads however, there is not much space between the brain and the top of our heads for such a network to exist and if it did, most of the components would have to be in the ear its self rather than in the head. WHY AM I TYPING THIS LMAO. Conclusion: I think the "Cat ears" are just for show and the human ears would be the ones to work. (Lmao yes im bored, very very bored.)
