This is now 10 years old! Just like what I mentioned before how Feint has changed so much. While Formless is not my favorite I do appreciate what It was going for at it's time. It's pretty decent coming from 2011!

Day 500: Still looking for a Monstercat song I don't like.

Yay! More Feint. Feint is honestly one of my favorite Monstercat artists and because of this, I subconsciously hold him up to some really high standards, which is why I didn't really like this song during my first listen. In fact I'm still not a fan of this song even after a couple of listens.

Now, before those who like this song get all angry, I want to make myself clear. There is plenty to like about this song. There is some good musical development throughout the song. The melody at the beginning does vary in such a way in the beginning that provides for an adequate build up and I do enjoy this part. In fact, each time this melody appears, it's beautiful and I really enjoy it. There's also another similar melody that appear during the drop, but I can't really give a fair judgement...unlesss...hold on a second. This second melody is actually a throwback to "We Move." I'm pretty sure that song features the main melody. I guess the melody is good then, but it's still hard to tel due to an issue that ruins the song for me.

And that issue is the bass. Man, I hate the bass of this song. It's just a long, droning, badly compressed, badly layered, cringe inducing, ear hurting bassline. I really don't like it and it ruins the song for me.

So yeah. This is probably Feint at his worst. But that doesn't mean that Feint is bad. He is still one of the best artists that has ever graced Monstercat with his presence.
