VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
If you get lost in the sea of lines you can get overwhelmed, intimidated or even impatient. With each line or group of lines, think "effect," visual effect. Strokes come together to affect one or more desired visual outcomes, be it value, volume, texture, shape or structure.

Also, a reminder that my Pen & Ink Shading online course is now available. The link is in my bio. And if you haven’t already, remember to grab a copy of my books, Pen & Ink Drawing: A Simple Guide, and its complementary Pen & Ink Drawing Workbook. Thanks 🙂🙏

You know, you would be AMAZING at copper plate lithography. Those are EXACTLY the types of lines needed for that method!!! You should try it!!! It's FUN!

I draw a lot of robots and while my style is completely different from this, this is still something that I get wrapped up in a lot. I end up focusing too much on individual lines and end up failing to see the entire drawing, leading me to become discouraged when small things don't go perfectly.

Mostly background music 🎶 makes us feel relax but in this video no background music but still relaxing and satisfying.
Keep it up 👍

Outstanding drawing. I think patience is the most important attribute for working on an intricate drawing. The piece suffers when the artist begins to rush. No rushing here.

So, what is this art style called? it reminds me of medieval works, the curved lines in the cheek especially.

I think I found the answer I was looking for, from a YouTube channel called chroma mama, on a video called 3 levels of drawing mechs.
There the guy talks about the gradual development of the design, and at the advanced level he says :”you need to add micro details”.
I think that is the secret to it.
To avoid drawing like a nursery kid using crayons, you need to gradually develop a design all the way to an advanced level where you implement micro details.
And to have a steady hand for micro details, you probably need to practice till you strengthen your nerves, and if your eyes are weak, you can use glasses or some sort of art magnifying glasses.
Take care bro, sorry for bothering you, just wanted a quick help, you are the go to guy when it comes to sketching. Great fan.
