Margarita And Me (formerly Making Margarita)

A Los Angeles artist goes to Greece to develop a theater project and ends up making a documentary featuring the former First-Lady of Greece, Margarita Papandreou—the now 95-yr-old activist determined to fight for a world free from prejudice and war.

Margarita and Me (formerly Making Margarita) brings to mind decades of Greece’s history from an unlikely source—a woman whose accomplishments are unknown, whose impact has been ignored, and whose being is still misunderstood. The driving force of the film is in the voices of progressive thinkers including those of her contemporaries, women politicos, and the Everywoman in the streets. The realities of today’s human rights, gender equality, social/cultural anthropology, and global awareness come to the forefront, what has changed and what has not, and who will be the next champion for peace and justice.
