Hey man, I part of the class of 2023 and we have obtained a new teacher this year and we wrote a test and apparently we are not supposed to abbreviate the Fg and Fn on a free body diagram, so we landed up losing marks and she said that it is ieb. So yeah, just wanted to see what that is about on your side. Because our previous teachers taught us the abbreviated version which is what we thought was right😞

Hey Kevin, firstly thanks for all the help. I have a question though... i was calculating the acceleration by myself before seeing the solution and i got Fnet as 70 after the tension canceled as i noticed it they act in opposite direction. Here's the catch though, when i used Fnet = ma, i added the masses to get m and calculated the acceleration and got the same answer.

Is the method correct or was it just lucky? Thanks in advance.
