The man at 2:24 is Earl Weinmann and he was my History teacher in middle school here in Northfield Minnesota, the place where the failed robbery happened. He was a great teacher to me and a phenomenal person above all else. Really awesome to see him on here talking about what he loves, we had a really long unit about the James Gang in class and it was so cool. I look back and remember him as one of the best teachers I've ever had.

He went by Thomas Howard, not John Howard.

He knew the Ford brothers pretty well. Bob was persuaded by the reward he never received. It was a needle point sampler that he stood on a chair to fix. The hole is still in the wall of his house, it's preserved

I'm Robert Degge James, we moved from Missouri to Dallas County Texas in 1865. Frank and Jesse needed a place to hide out in north Texas. I'm 70 years old now and the money's about gone😊😊

It’s crazy how romanticize this dude is. He was being romanticized while he was still alive. But the dude murdered 12 to 18 people. A train derailing killed the conductor. he was not a good person. He wasn’t a hero.

Why would Jesse deliberately put himself in a defenseless position, knowing that there was a huge price on his head and being very suspicious of the Fords?Rationally, it makes no sense. My guess (and it’s only a guess) is that he believed the Ford’s to be so intimidated by him that they wouldn’t dare try to kill him even in that situation. A tragic miscalculation: sheer terror, rather than paralyzing them, impelled them to act with no hesitation. It was their only chance to come out alive and with a big reward to boot.

A lot of people believe that he wasn’t killed that day. In fact a man in Oklahoma in 1949 in a rest home claimed to be Jesse James. Two men who had road with Jesse came to see this man and had asked him some questions only Jesse would have known the answers to. He answered the questions correctly! All three of the men were over 100 years old. This event also became world wide news!!

We'll never know why the father James really left his family but the excuse was gold fever and headed off to California and never came back it changed them forever, I wonder if there's a California branch of the family there.
