Reimagining the laws is what got us in this situation to begin with. We could use fewer people with strong imaginations on the council and more candidates with strong successful public service experience.

Sara Nelson says she is concerned about substance abuse but she's also the owner of a brewery. I guess that's the exception since she makes money. I see public consumption of her beer btw. She acknowledged there are laws against public consumption of alcohol and marijuana, but does she imagine the SPD pulling up to Golden Gardens on a sunny weekend arresting people drinking her beer and smoking marijuana? Of course she doesn't. If she could make money selling fentanyl and meth, she wouldn't care. She is full of it.

When asked what metrics they should judge the success, she says "it's a feeling". Sorry Sara, feelings are an impossible measurement tool.

The only way she will win reelection is to continue this "crime wave, drug infested downtown" talking points. Fear is her campaign tool. Basically, downtown is coming back on it's own, with mild investment from DSA, but they want to continue to hound the public on drug use. Why? Because they want to claim victory for a downtown that's already recovering. It's her only real talking point.
