Why do animals on Pandora have 6 limbs

Have you ever wondered why the creatures on Pandora, from the Avatar movie, have six limbs primarily? On Earth we have for for land mammals or animals. Here is our Theory to explain this anomaly.

I love Pandora, there's a open world video game in development that will take place on it, no release or information notable, other than James Cameron having a hand in it.

Adding to everything you said, the planet seems to be mostly dense jungle, or at least the parts that we see. If the common ancestor of the species we see in the movies had to adapt to such an environment, the two extra limbs would help it move more easily through that kind of terrain, adding some stability and helping it be faster and more agile than some hypothetical 4 limbed creature.

The Thanator demonstrated another advantage of the hexapod layout when chasing Jake - they live in a treacherous area of mountains and sudden drop-offs; the six limbs allow them to catch themselves easier when faced with such terrain.

But why Na'vi people are not having 6 limbs ??

If the part on the common ancestor is the reason these creatures have six limbs then why do the navi and all other tribes have only four?

I remember they said they have denser bones and are of larger proprtion to humans, which, I suppose, is what aides them in their denser atmosphere.

My question is what caused practically EVERY creature on Pandora to have nerves that can intertwine and share info between participants? Is it a common ancestor? If so, what caused this adaptation?

Another possible topic for a later video could be what would happen if a pandoran animal were brought to earth and vise versa, effects on the body etc.

The more limbs a creature has on a world like pandora can make up for the light gravity, this also explains why the Na’vi have evolved to become tall aliens because their ancestors evolved with 2 legs and were tall.
Earth’s gravity is 1g while pandora’s is 0.8g

What doesn't make sense, however, is the fact that Pandora's fauna looks very similar to Earth's. One could argue that's because life in Pandora has a similar origin, but even then natural selection would've made organisms that have similar basics but look completely different. So this creatures are alien enough to know they're from another world, but not so much so they feel like monsters. After all, the story wouldn't have worked if the Na'vi looked like "Super 8"'s monster.
Btw, the CGI in Avatar is the best (as far as creatures and natural environments)
