There was no mention of the CCW carry. The Jumbo Versapack S-type was designed for left hand carry with a optional universal holster.

I use both brands equally, when I can afford them and depending on my tactical needs for the day, I know you prefer the vanquest stuff more, and it looked virgin new, while the jumbo seemed to look like it's been on 3 tours in Iraq and came home proudly.
Btw, Jumbo comes with a drainage hole in their water bottle holster, which the other doesnt have

I heard Maxpedition's original founder & co-owner left years ago and became Vanquest's chief R&D guy. Plus a few others who worked at Maxped joined Vanquest. I guess that explains why Maxpedition hasn't made anything exciting for a while.

Really good review...except you did leave out one very key difference.  Price!  The packs really do seem pretty identical with regards to size, layout, quality, etc.  However the VPacker is currently listing for $59.89 on their website.  The Maxpedition Jumbo is listing for $102.99!  That just about makes it a no brainer.  I love Maxpedition stuff but have always thought they are crazy expensive.

Even though you gave the specs on the bags it was hard to get a sense of how big they were. There's no visual reference point. That and it would have been nice to have seen the bags being used by a person so that I could get a better sense of the size and how the bags are worn.

Hmmm. Interesting. Vanquest didn't get sued over copycat issue, did it? I want to understand this thing, how come they can make very similar pack to the known manufacturer and not get in trouble? This isn't called ripping off then, right?

The MAXPEDITION looks a little bit bigger then the VANQUEST MOBIUS in fact I own MAXPEDITION JUMBO FATBOY VERSI PACK, it's good but I saw VANQUEST website, there's a photo of guy that he's putting away his Apple iPad, right there I started to get interested on the MOBIUS and now I'm planning to buy one.

The way I see it, Maxpedition is loosing ground fast to Vanquest with all of the Vanquest packs including the Vslinger...

I used to buy nothing but Maxpedition, but not any more. I haven't seen that company making anything meaningful for the last few years.
Their knives are ok, $99 tactical personal cooler really sucks, and morale patches are not as funny as others.
Now everything about Maxpedition is just full page ads. Oh well.
