It is both utterly ridiculous and absolutely infuriating that Canadian Law forces us to be defenseless victims. The Criminal Code guarantees our right to Self Defense, up to and including the use of force and even lethal force if it is justified, and yet we are denied the right to own or use any tools to enact that defense. Tasers, pepper spray, stingers, push knives, metallic brass knuckles, and many others, all prohibited by Canadian Law. Even such items that we are actually allowed to own, as you say, it is considered a criminal act to carry and use them for self defense. And heaven help you if you are ever forced to defend yourself with a firearm, you'll be charged right alongside your assailant, that is if your assailant doesn't just walk away free.

Not a bad idea, but illegal in Australia regardless of material. What do you think of a hardwood pocket stick with rounded ends, ostensibly a massage tool? In some parts of Asia, there are massage tools that look like long teardrops carved out of stone, rounded on one end, and tapering to a narrow rounded point on the other.

I was surprised to learn that knuckle dusters are legal to carry in WV with a CCP.
