Taxpayers foot $32 million bill for ministerial officers

Sky News host Paul Murray says the latest ministerial expenditure report shows taxpayers spent $32 million on salaries and related payments for ministerial officers in the fiscal year 2022/23.

"That's up by 12 per cent from the year before," he said.

"Total cost of all ministerial officers during that year was $53 million, which is about $6 million more than was spent in 2021/22."

It looks very much like Campbell Newman was correct in purging the Queensland Public Service of it's deadwood. The rate of expansion of the Public Service in Queensland is eye watering. It seems to be the State Government's way of dealing with unemployment, just create more public servants. I would like know just how the Queensland citizens have benefited from this!
