This was about the least excessive hospital bag video ive seen, seems like people have never been to a hospital in their life when they post their massive list of hospital bag items. I personally wouldnt bring the boppy bc our hospital has tons of pillows, and the only thing from the frida kit is the upside down bottle bc they provide pretty much the exact other stuff but the angle of the frida bottle is more helpful than their peri. I had a 6 day stay with my 2nd after a premature induction and your bag is about the same amt as mine was and i was perfectly fine. I wore the gown the first 2 days and didnt touch my own clothes and thats most peoples stay time so they dont need more than one pair of clothes usually. I brought a preemie and nb outfit to leave bc it was cold but didnt need the nb one(too big as i suspected) but if it was hot id skip the clothes all together and use the hospital tees. People bringing a whole toiletry bag seems excessive to me since hospitals provide all of that. I worked cleaning hospital rooms for a few years and we threw so much stuff away that people didnt even touch and was always in the supply room to restock items and they have every toiletry item you could possibly need if you simply ask for them. Realistically most people arent putting on a full face of make up after birth either so idk why people bring that. Then they have literally anything your baby could possibly need, what you pack is mostly stuff for yourself. They have pacis too if you want them but if breast feeding id skip them all together. Ours gives you gifts too like halo swaddles and hand made hats and such.

I’m 36 weeks on Wednesday and while I have watched some videos and seen some pdfs on what to compile for the hospital bag I have yet to do it 🫣I feel like all this obgyn stuff is something I had to relearn as that’s not my specialty, thank you ladies for being awesome!

The hospital I gave birth at (Grady in Atlanta, Ga) sucked. I had emergency insurance (Medicaid). I heard I could request a pump but I was denied (that part makes sense tho). I was only given 2 of those ice packs and when I requested more the nurse told me no because each patient gets a limited #. No witch hazel offered. Nurses didn’t even want to give me formula milk (I was trying to lactate but the pain at the time was unbearable). After giving birth nurses stalled on giving me another hospital gown even tho I had requested it many times (since it was an emergency birth I didn’t have time to get my things into my hospital bag which was unpacked at the time.) I’m not making the same mistakes again, I am gonna be extra prepared

We bathed our baby every day when he came home. We never needed to use diaper rash cream.

I was told what the hospital provides you and baby all Depends on your insurance 😉not sure how true it is but doesn’t seem farfetched

I’m so lost in which one I want to do 😭 I don’t want to do OB/GYN but I love love love working with babies, I would prefer to work with the babies over the mamas just because I love babies so much. I’m interested in postpartum, NICU, and nursery! Any recommendations for the brief description I gave? And would I be able to fluidly transfer to any type of nursing if one doesn’t turn out to what I want it to be? Also are there differences in pay? Those are my 3 questions! Also do you recommend and accelerated BSN program?

I dont understand ehen moms over pack. Its like they want all this attention from their spouse snd be babied and have a reason to waste money. You dont need to bring babys diaper bag. Just bring going home outfit and onesies for hospital. And a going home outfit for yoyself. Hospital provides mesh pads and bottle to clena yourself but yes the frida curved one is a plus. You dont need to wear cute slippers your literally lying down during your stay and you dont wmat to get hospital germs on new shoes and take it home. You also dont normally get iur breast milk until a few days later so save the extra andbsave your pads for breasts at home. Bring nipple cream and breast feeding pillow because the pillows sre uncomfortable to use to feed. Bring toiletries and carseat.
