Guys I just realized...since Michael said he was a Sonic fan, maybe he could've used some sonic songs as inspiration for his own which is why a lot of them happen to sync so well.

It amazes me how something as simple as an Instrumental change to a song can give a completely different vibe. The phrase "Do you remember when we fell in love" hits differently to be honest...
