I am definitely going to try this drill. I have been a flipper for so long it’s hard to change. Thanks

Lee Trevino had a strong grip and a bowed left wrist to square the club face - he had superb rotation..

Similar to a tip from your impact series. Worked on that and it changed my impact dramatically for the better. But this drill gives better feedback if I slip back into bad habits. I'll be putting together an old iron with an alignment stick before my next range visit.

I tried this today. Thanks a ton for the tip. It definitely helped, at least on the range. My distance is still pretty poor. I am not getting great compression. To achieve a proper strike, I find I need to focus above all on keeping my spine angle. If I do that, then my hands will typically be forward of the ball at impact, and I will get a decent strike.

Hi Chris, liked your video and your practicing method to get rid of the casting problem, yes with turning (bowing )my left wrist at the top of my back swing. I was pushing the ball out. I have done stretching exercises, and now able to make a fuller turn. Take the club back along foot line.. a bit more upwrite., the club handle pointing at the ball at halfway down...with a flat left wrist like your demo. With staying stacked over the ball a bit more, and more lag, I was able a to strike ball first (with my casting and over the top move, i simply was not able to strike the ball first. Your turning of the left wrist and stick in the handle ...also helps me get the angle of the club, and hands...in a similar position (just before contact)...address position. Thank you for helping to solve my problem. Regards, Johnny vd Merwe

At setup (before backswing) is the golf club square to the target, or slightly open since you’ll be adding a little bit of wrist rotation during the downswing.

My misses are right of target more often than not.

I’ve start adding some wrist rotation early in the backswing and hold that wrist position through impact and it seems to help produce straighter shots and much better ball flight.

Awesome video! I was thinking...oh no! Chris isn't going to hit a full shot in this video! But, you did. 🏌️‍♂️ Always like watching your swing. Thanks for a very informative video.

Good video, thanks. Question, can you over rotate your right hand down during impact causing a low hook? I used to flip but find I now have this hook where my club face it too closed at impact. Having trouble stopping it.

Great DRILL without the golf ball. Unfortunately when I place the ball to swing, I revert back to flipping.
Question: is it ok leave the clubface open until master the forward shaft lean... then concentrate on rotating the hands?
It simply has to be automatic and natural.

Hey Chris, thanks for that tip again, super helpful. Quick question though: would you look to keep that left wrist facing the ground at impact when you are playing or this is only for the drill and a bit exaggerated? Thanks for your answer. Nic
