Eastern Railways Andal WDG3A 13310 chugging as it hauls the BTPN Petroleum tanker rake towards Bhopal . WDG3A are Alco technology based diesel locomotves developed by Indian Railways primarily for freight trains .
In the earlier nomenclature followed by IR , it was called the WDG2 . These locos were introduced in the mid nineties and were made in response to the WDM2 class which often had problems in hauling heavy freight trains .
WDG3A are presently homes at various diesel sheds on Indian Railways like Erode , Katni , VSKP , Gooty , Vatva , Kazipet ( KZJ ) , Raipur etc .
