I don't think that Soviet Union could have survived this defeat and there are several reasons:
The Japanese would have started an offensive in the Russian Far East, which would strain the forces of Russia. Stalin would probably be captured by Germans and executed publicly. Then, the death of Stalin could have concluded the siege of Leningrad in the favour of the Germans. That, in turn, would probably bring Turkey to the Axis. So, probably, what would remain from Soviet Union, would be fighting three nations at once and likely end in Soviet Union's capitulation and break up.

There would not be a nuclear war, because only the United States had nukes and the Soviets didn't until 1949. The United States would eventually win because they would have industrial and military capabilities that the Soviets simply didn't have, namely because unlike the Soviets, none of the American factories and cities were effected by bombing and artillery barrages. The Soviets just got done fighting a war of survival against the Germans so would already be weak. Lend lease was coming to a stop. The Soviets would have the advantage initially, but would lose the advantage to the United States after some time. Stalin would probably be overthrown in a coup by his Generals in a last ditch effort to stop themselves from being totally defeated by the Allies.

Nah dude the German Empire would not collapse in my opinion. The Germans would have win the war.
