Unit 3 of the scat singing lesson, introduces more progressive harmonic chord patterns including the II-V-I, extended II-V, and exemplifies how to modulate keys using the cycle V turnaround.

Moreover, students will learn how to navigate half-diminished chords using the Locrian scale, and dominant tonalities using Lydian, Bebop, diminished, altered and whole tone scales and arpeggios.

Finally, students will learn how to use short melodic phrases to resolve primary and extended color tones over a variety of basic harmonic patterns.
