The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus bids goodbye to the headphone jack and hello to longer battery life. And, says WSJ's Geoffrey A. Fowler, it's worth the upgrade for water-resistance and a better low-light camera, too. Photo: F. Martin Ramin/The Wall Street Journal

The video quality is impressive. Did you record this video with the 7 or the 7+? Thanks

People need to stop bitching about the headphone jack. You get an adapter to work with your old headphones. Accept the fact that Bluetooth is taking over already and stop wining.

The background music which sounds like some fake laugh added in between is really annoying.

The iPhone 6s outperformed the latest Galaxy Note 7, and the iPhone 7 is even faster than that. And you have the audacity to say it's the "greatest phone of 2015?"

This is seriously one of the worst reviews I've ever seen.

Bad Review. Need major improvements on reviewing things.

I think it's funny how people say Apple needed to remove the jack to add more stuff. Like they couldn't fathom making the phone 2 or 3 mm thicker to add more battery or the "taptic" motor they installed for the home button feedback. Like 2-3 mm thicker is going to make it unusable. How tight are your damn pants?

Well, this isn't a biased review at all...

What a stupid review. Are you kidding me a 2015 phone? The chip with this level of performance wasn't possible in a phone last year.

What's the battery life hit for compulsive home button pushers that it now consumes battery for the vibration? I know people that compulsively double-tap the home button to swipe away apps thinking that it helps battery life.

I almost never down vote things but this was a bad video and review. Also pretty inaccurate. Johanna Stern come on man, you are better than this!

that is a lame excuse to remove the headphone jack for 14% battery increase, you have other phones with huge batteries and thin profile phone and still have room for a headphone jack. i always like iphones but it looks like they dont really innovate enough, i mean i love that it is water proof finally and has a quad core chip finally and better speakers, but you already seen all these features on other phones for quite sometime now.

The iPhone IS the most advanced smartphone. It's getting to where other phone with their performance can't reach it one bit, and it's hard to believe Apple is playing catch up when clearly the dual camera lens work differently than other dual cameras, and not to mention a few more upgrades from what they have done in the past and that other phones get knockoff features.

But the head phone jack is still very widely used and for apple to just remove something already used a lot is just wrong.

the headphone jack will fit in the phone, watch any teardown of it

How the fuck will skipping this iPhone fix the headphone jack problem? Apple's probably not going to bring back the headphone jack for future iPhones anyways...
