1. Nobody says that products that are not for “black hair care” can actually work wonders for your hair better than “the black hair care” products and are a great deal cheaper 😳.

2. Nobody tells you that once you learn your hair porosity——the game is changed. Choosing products gets so much better. Hair care also gets much better.

3. Nobody tells you that going back to old school hair care keeps our hair growing (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in/pink lotion 😂, oil or grease).

4. Nobody tells you that the wash day does not have to take all day 😒

5. Nobody tells you that you will get tired of getting pimped by “black hair care products”😢

6. Nobody tells you that all of the loving care is worth it when you wear your big beautiful fro/crown out. The love and beauty pops all day long——everything is worth it.

7. Nobody tells you that your daughter will come to have so much pride in her natural crown because you lovingly take care of her natural hair and yours. When we know better we do better. 😉✌🏾

Nobody told me that I would actually *FALL IN LOVE* with my curls...to the point where I'm pulling on the coils/curls all day and watching them spring back with the nerdiest smile on my face...but touching your hair that much causes breakage😖

Nobody told me that after a big chop I would have a mullet:(

Not everything other people say about their hair is true for your hair. For example, coconut oil actually works well for my hair. 🤷🏾‍♀️

One thing I wish I would of known going natural in 2014 is that just Bc the hairstylist is black doesn’t mean they will know how to do your texture hair.

A lot of natural hair youtubers made me feel as if my hair would only be beautiful if it was long and that growing inches is the sole purpose of going natural. But in actuality, it’s so important to love your hair at every stage

*ALSO* most "famous" natural hair Youtubers have *ONE* curl pattern on their head.

Baby doll, let me tell you I got like 4 different curl patterns *AND* I have *BOTH* fine and thick hair. The whole top of my head has less hair (I'm not going bald) and it looks so weird to have so much volume on the bottom half of my head but the top half is just *FLAT* like a pancake!

Nobody told me once I chopped all the relaxed end off that I would love my hair, curl pattern. Nobody really told me that I would love a curly fro 😍😍😍

How about the fact that for some naturals, as hair grows, the curls becomes tighter and more springy, giving the appearance of shorter hair and lost length. For the past few months I've been focusing on the health of my hair, and the shrinkage has been incredible.

They didn’t tell me my biceps would become like Dwayne Johnson’s because of all the work it take to detangle.

My biggest thing I struggle with is that awkward phase after you big chop. Like people only show their hair just after they cut it all of and when it’s suddenly at their shoulders. That stage when your hair is still too short for most style options but too long to just wash and go all the time. My hair is roughly 6/7 inches now and I want to braid it up but don’t always want to deal with braiding hair and the time it takes to do it.
I love my hair just don’t always want to do it.

They didn’t tell me that I would reach an awkward length and all my normal styles would look bad😭

Some of the YouTubers would have their hair in a style for weeks then act like only 3 strands of hair came out. I thought something was wrong with me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love your channel Hannah, take care😘

You know one thing that kinda annoy's me is that when youtubers covering natural hair recommend products that promise it will improve hair growth and does this and that
But don't all the products promise that tho😂🤷🏾‍♀️
Anyways what I'm trying to say is just because the product works for them does not mean it will work for you find a product for your type of hair

Believe it or not...its really not expensive to be natural once you know your hair #dontbelievethehype. A simplistic yet efficient regimen is key.

Oiling your hair, protective styling or using gel reduces single strand knots! I was so happy when I figured out this and now I rarely get them. Just keep my hair stretched in one style per week till wash day

Coconut oil keeps moisture in your hair so if you use it after your products, it will add a layer that will help keep those products hydrating your hair. There are tons of better oils to actually moisturize your hair but coconut is just a protective layer.

They don’t tell you that it will take SOME people longer to grow their hair than others... 🙋🏼‍♀️ (I’m SOME people) 😕

No one told me that just because it turned out good with those certain products one time, doesn't mean it'll happen again😭
