With Aidan, I was like ugh, not again.

But I like how they wrote them maturely in the show. I also liked how Carrie changed so far with him. She listens to him about his fears and does not judge him. She also takes it slow with him. She does not push anything with him.

I also love that she is excited to be with him and their kitchen gadget store date was adorable and shows that couples can have fun in these little moments.

I hope they stay on this route. I don’t want them to be ruined again.

When Carrie finally said "Was Big a big mistake?" I was literally screaming "Yes!" at my television.

S2E8 was honestly the first time AJLT felt and sounded like the old SATC for several reasons for me personally:
1) Seema and Carrie were able to have that difficult but realistic and honest talk about Seema not wanting to be a third wheel to Carrie and Aidan in the Hamptons.
2) Carrie admitting that Big may have been a mistake shows that all the online commentary from therapists and psychologists about Big being a classic textbook narcissist have finally reached the ears of the show writers.
3) Aidan was always the emotionally healthy guy and finally Carrie sees it and gets it.
4) Miranda is getting closer to her old, rational professional self with razor-sharp intelligence
5) The song which they used to close out the episode has the exact same vibes and energy as the music from the old series.

Carries luxurious lifestyle that she has been able to maintain into her mid 50's is largely due to big and everything she inherited after his death. When she was writing her column she was not earning a lot of money- modest earnings by standards today and then. Her apartment was rent controlled which is how she had money to buy shoes and party. She got money from book sales but nothing in comparison to big's wealth. And buy her own addmittance in IJLT season 1 - publishing has largely died which is why she no longer needed Samantha as her publicist. Carrie has always been a very materialistic character - high lifestyle and material things are very important to her. Those things play into her infatuation with Big. To say he was a 'big mistake' just seems wrong - when the caliber of her lifestyle since their marraige/ and basically for the rest of her life was due to her relationship with big. Money isnt everything to everyone - but it is very important to Carrie. He gave her the material high life she had always wanted.

Lastly, I have to give a shout out to Anthony. I liked that he fired the new guy because he did not want to abuse his power and break boundaries. That is huge. I also like how the new guy (forgot his name) revealed his feelings which creates a conversation between the two.

That is nice to see in this day and age where abuse of power with bosses and employees are constantly being exploited.

Season 2 is better than Season 1 for sure.

I'm so glad they finally addressed that Big was a mistake. When the show aired I wanted Big to be the one but now I feel very differently

I don't understand how people are upset with Carrie questioning her choice to stay with Big. It makes sense to look back on relationships that we once saw through rose-colored glasses in a different light. Especially after some time of separation. Carrie was use to toxicity and the push/pull of her's and Big's relationship. Now that's she dealt with grief, loss, and trying to carve out her own life being newly single and older, she's more than likely have had time to reflect on her own behaviors. Her forming this new relationship with Aiden without Big gives her space and time to reconsider that maybe what she wanted with Big was indicative of who she was at that time. Carrie was a mess then. Now she seems much more established, assured, and grounded. She is now realizing that she may in fact want a relationship that isn't complicated, messy, and just honest.

I have to defend Steve!
After years of abuse by Miranda, he finally stood up to her. I loved how he brought up that there are more things that make up a house than paying the mortgage. He literally made that house. He rebuilt it. He stayed at home with Marta and the kids. Considering Miranda broke up their marriage and was a hypocrite about the cheating, he has every right to stay in the house. Miranda needs to find her own place.

Agreed; I'm full on board about watching women pursuing theirs careers, Miranda is amazingly competent and has to re learn to be unapologetic for it and Charlotte inserting herself in the art scenario is inspirational, hope we see more of her actually working.

And, as a sidenote, I love Seema, she's by far the more consistently well-written character; she's faithful to herself and at the same time we can see her in more vulnerable situations as admitting to Carrie the burden of hearing all the time her stories of "true real love".

Carrie seems to be the real prude. I do get a real kick out of Charlotte and Harry.

I really would love to see a Take video on rage watching. Something dissecting the psychology of it but how it also affects what shows get renewed and why.
Not just AJLT, but other shows like The Idol, lots of Marvel shows--- basically, on many streaming services----, a lot of tv shows arent actually watched because they're good, but because people wanna know if the trainwreck is just gonna keep on going, or wanna make vlogs dissecting the crapness of it, or complain about them in comment sections.
I just think itd be a really great thing to discuss, because its certainly a more common thing these days.

Mirandas arc makes sense to me, I've witness peoples first lesbian relationship later in life & they can be pretty intense

I agree that last week’s episode was a nice step back toward the show I loved. When it ended, I said out loud, ”ok, now that was good. Finally!”

They just needed to get rid of Che and stop Cinthya Nixon from directing any episode

My take on this… I think the writers are slowly writing Che’s character out. Sara Ramirez is great but their character felt so unnecessary to the overall story.

Lisa Wexler, I feel a spin off coming.

Seema. I love the actress but I feel her character is just a glamorized personal assistant to Carrie.

As for Aidan, I am just wondering when HE will wake up a realized that Carrie was his Mr Big. Carrie didn’t make 1 mistakes. She made 3 or more.

Let’s not forget Carrie was always the Anti Hero.

Still on team Steve bc Miranda really did do him dirty.

Samantha character gave the best advice on dating.

it’s like you guys read my mind! the pros and the cons!! i love that we’re getting back to the satc vibe and i love seeing the core girls focusing on their true wants! charlotte finding herself again with the gallery and confidence, carrie finally learning from her past relationship mistakes and being more empathetic especially with aiden and even seema, and miranda finally getting back to her career and choosing herself over che!

Okay, all fairness, that’s life when you get to your 50’s. You tended to lose who you once were and finding yourself again isn’t easy.
