The Just Transition Toolbox for coal regions // Online seminar

The global energy transition away from coal to renewable energy will have economic and social effects in coal regions in developing and emerging countries, threatening local livelihoods, economic activities and jobs, but also holding opportunities for sustainable, low carbon development. Regional decision makers play a decisive role in steering the transition and developing locally adapted solutions. But they often lack capacities and knowledge of how to best support the transition process. Against this background, the Wuppertal Institute has developed the Just Transition Toolbox for coal regions, a comprehensive compendium of experiences and good practices with references and links to existing handbooks, tools and guidelines.
