I remember when 247 on a hunting set up would have been fast. In the 1990s I used to hunt successfully with a bow that shot like 180-190fps Jennings Gale Force with 2117 Easton arrows and 125gr head

The record books are filled with deer taken with old, slow bows.

It's completely amazing now a days how game animals have advanced and improved so much that they can't be killed by anything slower than 300 fps...🙄🤦‍♂️

Remember Indians use to make brush bows that only went roughly around 125fps with stones for buffalo and other big game it's not the equipment it's the archer that makes it count

Shot a whitetail with my 1999 PSE Thunderbolt this past year with arrows traveling at about the exact same speed. Complete pass through, double lung. Wish I could see the bow. Looks very familiar.

Try traditional bow hunting its so much of a challenge, have to be a great hunter to be successful

Back in the eighties a regular bow shot two hundred and ten feet per second and a fast one shot two thirty.

My first bow kills of deer were taken with a PSE shooting just 218 fps. Some were complete pass throughs.

I doubt any of my current bows are shooting in excess of 300 fps right now. But, guess what? They are just fine as is.

I just got a vintage PEARSON that’s around a 1980s model… I’m waiting on Ben Pearson Junior to give me exact year! I’m wondering how fast (or slow, lol) it’s going to be through the chrono.. I may finally have you beat at something!

Next time tell us the poundage you're pulling. I pulled a High-country Safari bow 105 pounds. My speed was 327, arrow 2412. Lator on I went to shoot the bow, and the riser busted in half just before I was going to release the arrow. It was a cast aluminum riser with a manufacture flaw.

Not about fast...its about arrow placement grasshopper

😅😅 back in 1989.... the Oneida Screaming Eagle was the fastest compound bow on the market... it shot 240 fps.
I still have mine. Smooth shooting bow.
How old were you in 1989 Chris? 😅

It seems the more someone knows about bows. The less they actually understand about bows. As if 50fps more means anything. Or a sight that moves is worth 500 dollars when any post fix in front of the bow will do.

Sounds like you're arrow is sliding through a whisker biscuit that is a solo cam bow we don't know the draw length, poundage or arrow weight.
