This is clarifying so much. So beautiful how much is lurking beneath common Joseki sequences. The distinction you make between memorizing vs. truly understanding why each move is being made is super important, and the way you show how these positions expand beyond the corner and become "shape-knowledge" inspires me to really dig into taking Joseki more seriously. Going to replay these and explain each move to myself as study. Thanks again for this amazing content!

I am kind of betraying my double kyu status, but I would love to see a similar move by move explanation of the attempt by an unreasonable player to invade the small knight's enclosure of a star point with a 33 invasion and attempt to live outright without ko, perhaps by descending to the first line. They keep getting away with it against me. Great video, btw.
