Everyone's playing Spy up to be his lore-accurate self, but I can't help but see him laughing and instantly killbinding when he wins a round.

Imagine if the Spy was added to DBD: He would be able to disguise himself as normal people while being a maniac and the upgrades would allow you to know he's nearby only when someone else is nearby and you'd never be sure which of your team members is the Spy.

Like there is no superstitious, lore-related reason
The entity just coughed up a couple grand and Spy said he’d do it

I like the detail of everything before the chase is quiet and calm like you dont know hes right behind you

Then the chase is like "OH FUCK HES HERE"

Killer perk: Allied Impostor
When the killer hooks a survivor, the other survivors are not alerted. This allows Spy to disguise himself as the survivor he just hooked.
