Author. Crossroad Witch. High Priestess. Taren S. stood in her first magickal circle at 17 years old in the backwoods of North Carolina in an American Witchcraft Folkloric Tradition. Her original coven has hived off several times since forming over 30 years ago.

I loved the humor when you were stating how to set up the alter or "she will not talk to you". Thank you for reminding those on the path that there is no right way. We are all different and our relationship with Hecate is unique. I had never worked with a deity before (I am a hereditary witch) but she reached out to me multiple times so after study and meditation I have started to work with Hecate. My alter is small but personal I feel it reflects the relationship between her and I. My alter will grow and change as my relationship with Hecate grows and changes. Me being Native, my working Altar is a drum I created out of a hollowed out log and some leather I tanned myself.
I placed a round piece of glass to protect the leather. Clear glass bottle shaped like life sized skull filled with dirt from ancestral homelands, Cultural Center and Gardens, current Tribal Headquarters, and cemeteries where I have family. I use it as my Power/Ancestor candleholder. Use an arrow as a wand with a flint arrowhead I knapped myself.
Couple of bowls and Chalice made from clays found only on Tribal Lands. Someone says I created a New expression of Ancient Ways that he labeled Chicka Wicca

Seriously, I've recently become a devotee of Hekate, after feeling her calling to me.
As a secular male witch, i was pleasantly surprised that she is a reality and is generous and kind towards those who reach out to her.
So now I'm no longer secular, as she's already starting to change me.
